Taping

Kinesio taping is a rehabilitative technique that facilitates the body’s natural healing process while simultaneously providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting range of motion. Kinesio taping provides extended soft tissue manipulation which prolongs the beneficial effects of the manual therapy given. Kinesio tape can be applied hundred of different ways and has the ability to re-educate the neuromuscular system, optimize performance, prevent injury, promote good circulation and healing, reduce pain and inflammation, and assist in returning the body to homeostasis.
Kinesio tape is safe for pediatric patients, geriatric patients, and successfully treats a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and other medical conditions.
How does Kinesio taping relieve pain?
Kinesio taping relieves pain by targeting different receptors within the somatosensory system (part of the sensory system: concerned with conscious reception of touch) and facilitating lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting affects forms convolutions in the skin, which increases interstitial space, allowing for a decrease in inflammation to the affected area relieving pain.
Kinesio taping is incredibly beneficial in the rehabilitation and prevention process after an injury is sustained. At Dynamic Chiropractic and Sports therapy Center our practitioner are highly trained in proper taping techniques to increase and improved the healing process.
